Sweet Trimz is a boutique production and post-production vessel, based in Los Angeles, Mexico City and Paris.
At the helm, Alex Rodríguez, a film director and film editor with a career spanning three decades in Mexico, Europe and the United States.
Alex is currently editing Lords of War, written and directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Nicolas Cage and Bill Skarsgård.
Alex’s credits include Y Tu Mamá También and Children of Men, both directed by Alfonso Cuarón, Mosul, by Mathew Carnahan, Anon, by Andrew Niccol and Carré Blanc, by Jean-Baptiste Léonetti and collaborations with Martin Campbell, Renny Harlin, Daniel Barber, Gabriele Muccino and Laurent Cantet, among other famed directors.
Aside from his editing career, Alex is currently developing a feature film based on the characters of his short film Esperando al Gordo (Waiting for Gordo) starring Joaquín Cosío and Gerardo Taracena. Cosío plays a journalist that has been threatened to death. Trying to escape his faith, he seeks the help of a long lost friend, Taracena, a dodgy lawyer swimming away in the murky waters of Mexican politics.
And in partnership with Julien Prévost, in development is an action thriller to feature Adam Bessa (Mosul, Extraction) as an expat working on a big infrastructure project in the Mayan Peninsula. A story of paradise turned nightmare in the tropical heat.

““With great contributions from director of photography Mauro Fiore and editor Alex Rodriguez, and with Morocco standing in for Mosul, writer-director Carnahan has delivered a gripping, intense recent-history war film. This is one of the best movies of 2020.””
“As a visceral, immersive experience, however, Mosul works just fine. Mexican editor Alex Rodríguez (Children of Men, Y Tu Mama También) paces the film beautifully, alternating between quiet lulls and action scenes that provide a disorienting adrenaline overload.”
“DP Mauro Fiore’s fervent, explosive handheld cinematography has undeniable visceral impact, as does Oscar-nominated Alex Rodríguez’ taut, capable editing.”
